Nicole Ari Parker (born Nicole Ari Parker) is an American actress that works in television, film and the theatre. She's best known as Teri Joe, a fiery lawyer from the Showtime series Soul Food. The actress is known under her husband's name, Nikki Kodjoe. While growing up within Baltimore, Maryland, she was always fascinated by acting. When she participated in the Maryland high school contest in her early years of schooling, she won the prize for the most outstanding actress. Contractor, who was raised by his parents in Nigeria and Mumbai when he was seven, had traveled around all over the world and had a taste of various cultures while growing up.
